Follow our step-by-step guides below to do so.

Apple IOS Devices

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

Easiest Method:

  1. Go to icloud.com/find, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).

  2. Select the device below All Devices on the left.

  3. Erase the device. Because the device isn’t lost, don’t enter a phone number or message.

    If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it’s online. You receive an email when the device is erased.

  4. When the device is erased, click Remove This Device. Remove the device from your account even if it does not power on.

Secondary Method:

  1. Make sure your device is connected to WiFi/cellular data.

  2. In Settings, go to General.

  3. Scroll down and tap Transfer or Reset iPhone.

  4. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

  5. Tap Continue, then enter your passcode if prompted.

  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm and begin the reset.

​Additional Tips

Find My iPhone: If you have enabled Find My iPhone, make sure to disable it before erasing the device. Go to Settings > [your name] > Find My > Find My iPhone and toggle it off.

Apple Watch: If you have an Apple Watch paired with your iOS device, unpair it before erasing the device. Open the Watch app, go to My Watch > All Watches, tap the info button next to your watch, and select Unpair Apple Watch.

Android Devices

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

Step 1: Sign Out of Your Google Account

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Scroll down and tap Accounts or Passwords & Accounts.

  3. Select your Google account.

  4. Tap Remove account.

    • If prompted, enter your device PIN or password.

    • This step disables Factory Reset Protection, which can prevent someone else from setting up the device after it’s erased.

Step 2: Perform the Factory Reset

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap System (or General Management on some devices).

  3. Tap Reset or Reset options.

  4. Select Erase all data (factory reset).

  5. Review the information and confirm by tapping Reset phone or Erase all data.

  6. Enter your PIN/password if prompted.

  7. Tap Delete all or Erase everything to begin the reset.

​Additional Tips

Factory Reset Protection: Some devices have Factory Reset Protection (FRP). To avoid issues, ensure you've removed all accounts from the device before resetting.

Windows 10 Devices

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

  1. Plug in your device

    • Ensure your computer is connected to a charger to prevent interruption.

  2. Open Settings

    • Click the Start menu, then select Settings (gear icon).

  3. Navigate to Update & Security

    • In the Settings window, click Update & Security.

  4. Go to Recovery

    • From the left-hand menu, click Recovery.

  5. Begin the Reset Process

    • Under the Reset this PC section, click the Get Started button.

  6. Choose “Remove everything”

    • When asked, select Remove everything to erase all personal files, apps, and settings.

  7. Select “Local reinstall”

    • Choose Local reinstall to reinstall Windows from the existing system files.

  8. Choose “Remove files and clean the drive”

    • For a more secure erase, select Remove files and clean the drive. This makes it harder for anyone to recover your data.

  9. Click Next, then Reset

    • Follow the prompts and click Reset to begin the erasure process.

Windows 11 Devices

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

  1. Plug in your device

    • Ensure your computer is connected to a charger to avoid interruptions during the reset process.

  2. Open Settings

    • Click the Start menu, then select Settings (gear icon or search for it).

  3. Navigate to System > Recovery

    • In the left-hand menu, click System.

    • Then scroll down and click Recovery.

  4. Start the Reset

    • Under the Recovery options section, click the Reset PC button next to “Reset this PC.”

  5. Choose “Remove everything”

    • Select Remove everything to delete all personal files, apps, and settings.

  6. Select “Local reinstall”

    • Choose Local reinstall to reinstall Windows using the files already on your device.

  7. Choose “Remove files and clean the drive”

    • For a more secure erase, select Remove files and clean the drive. This helps prevent data recovery.

  8. Click Next, then Reset

    • Review the summary, then click Next and finally Reset to begin.

Apple macOS Ventura & Monterey

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

Step 1: Sign Out of iCloud

  1. Open System Preferences (Ventura: “System Settings”).

  2. Click Apple ID.

  3. Select Overview, then click Sign Out.

  4. Follow the prompts to remove iCloud data from your Mac.

    • If prompted, enter your Apple ID password to disable Activation Lock.

Step 2: Erase All Content and Settings

For macOS Ventura or Later

  1. Click the Apple menu  in the upper-left corner of the screen.

  2. Choose System Settings.

  3. In the sidebar, click General.

  4. On the right, click Transfer or Reset.

  5. Click Erase All Content and Settings.

  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to erase your Mac.

For macOS Monterey

  1. Click the Apple menu  in the upper-left corner of the screen.

  2. Choose System Preferences.

  3. From the menu bar, choose System Preferences > Erase All Content and Settings.

  4. Enter your administrator password when prompted.

  5. Follow the instructions to erase your Mac.

Apple macOS Pre-Monterey

⚠️ Warning: This process will delete all data on the device. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep.

Step 1: Sign Out of iCloud

  1. Open System Preferences (Ventura: “System Settings”).

  2. Click Apple ID.

  3. Select Overview, then click Sign Out.

  4. Follow the prompts to remove iCloud data from your Mac.

    • If prompted, enter your Apple ID password to disable Activation Lock.

Step 2: Restart in Recovery Mode

  1. Shut down your Mac

    • Click the Apple menu  in the top-left corner and choose Shut Down.

  2. Enter Recovery Mode

    • Turn your Mac back on and immediately press and hold Command (⌘) + R.

    • Keep holding until the Apple logo or a spinning globe appears.

Step 3: Erase Your Hard Drive

  1. Open Disk Utility

    • In the macOS Utilities window, select Disk Utility, then click Continue.

  2. Select the Startup Disk

    • In the Disk Utility sidebar, choose your main drive (typically named “Macintosh HD”).

  3. Erase the Disk

    • Click the Erase button at the top.

    • Name the disk (e.g., “Macintosh HD”).

    • Choose the format:

      • APFS (for SSDs on newer Macs)

      • Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (for older Macs with spinning hard drives)

    • Click Erase, then click Done once complete.
